Dr. Fareed Iqbal Qureshi took on the role of Member Customs Operations on December 12, 2023, as part of the initiatives led by the Special Investment Facilitation Council. Prior to this position, Dr. Qureshi held the position of Secretary at the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan. In 2017, he served as a Collector in Customs Appraisement West Karachi, and during his tenure as Chief Collector Customs Appraisement in 2022, Dr. Fareed Iqbal Qureshi implemented a comprehensive policy to combat smuggling.

His appointment as Member Customs Operations highlights the consensus between the business community and the government regarding his capabilities. Additionally, Dr. Fareed Iqbal Qureshi previously served as Director-General Customs Valuation, where he introduced an open-door policy to address the concerns and grievances of the business community.
