PSW Initiates Time Release Study (TRS) to Enhance Trade Efficiency

As part of Pakistan’s commitments under Article 7(6) of the WTO Trade Facilitation Agreement, Pakistan Single Window (PSW) has initiated a Time Release Study (TRS) at major customs stations, including seaports, airports, and border crossings. The study is designed to analyze clearance times, identify procedural delays, and enhance trade efficiency by assessing processes involving Customs, Other Government Agencies (OGAs), and private sector stakeholders.

To ensure transparency and inclusivity, PSW has established a TRS Steering Committee comprising representatives from Pakistan Customs, PSW, and the Pakistan Business Council (PBC). The committee is responsible for overseeing and validating the study to ensure its accuracy and effectiveness. Several sessions have already taken place, marking a significant step towards modernizing trade facilitation and aligning Pakistan’s trade processes with global best practices.
