PSW Empowers SMEs Nationwide Through SMElevate Capacity-Building Series

PSW conducted nationwide SMElevate sessions for the textile value chain, including raw materials, fabrics, garments, home textiles, and upholstery, and apparel and surgical instruments industries, sectors with strong export potential. Each session offered targeted training, practical demonstrations, and direct engagement with industry stakeholders, trade bodies, and development partners to help SMEs harness PSW’s digital trade facilitation tools and adopt global best practices.

Karachi: Textile Sector Session with Alibaba.com

In collaboration with Alibaba.com, PSW hosted an SMElevate session in Karachi tailored for stakeholders across the textile value chain. The session focused on enhancing export readiness through digital transformation, highlighting the Preferential Electronic Certificate of Origin (e-CO) and the Trade Information Portal of Pakistan (TIPP). Participants learned how these digital tools streamline trade procedures, secure tariff advantages, and improve access to regulatory and market intelligence, enabling SMEs to engage more competitively in international trade.

Karachi: Workshop for Textile SMEs

PSW also organized a full-day SMElevate workshop in Karachi, bringing together nearly 100 textile SMEs, including a significant number of women-led enterprises. The event fostered collaboration between SMEs and representatives from trade associations, government agencies, financial institutions, and development partners. Speakers from organizations such as Artistic Milliners, Getz Pharma, TDAP, Pakistan Customs (FBR), SBP, and PSW provided actionable insights on export facilitation, compliance, financing, e-commerce, and marketing. The workshop also featured the launch of PSW’s Trade Lab, Pakistan’s first digital e-learning platform dedicated to trade, offering SMEs practical courses in international trade, customs, and e-commerce to strengthen their capacity and competitiveness.

Lahore: Apparel and Home Textiles

The Lahore session focused on apparel and home textile SMEs, offering practical training on PSW registration, export facilitation, and the use of the Trade Information Portal of Pakistan (TIPP). Participants learned how to leverage digital platforms to simplify export processes, reduce administrative hurdles, and build operational efficiency.

Sialkot: Apparel and Surgical Industries

In Sialkot, PSW and Alibaba.com co-hosted an SMElevate session targeting the apparel and surgical sectors, industries central to Pakistan’s export landscape. The session introduced participants to the Single Declaration (SD), a core PSW feature that consolidates all regulatory requirements into one digital submission, reducing delays and strengthening compliance. Members from leading industry associations including PRGMEA, PHMA, PLGMEA, PEMDA, and PHDA attended the session. The engagement provided SMEs with hands-on understanding of PSW’s digital trade solutions, enabling them to streamline documentation, boost efficiency, and expand into new markets.
